Israel hits back against Hamas

Israeli airstrikes have hit several Hamas military instillations today. Israel is perfectly justified in this attack. Hamas is a terrorist organization, who have put their desire for jihad ahead of the well-being of their people. Israel is a sovereign nation with every right to defend itself. Those of us here in the United States must understand that Hamas and their allies desire our destruction as well as that of Israel.

What Would Lincoln Do?

Politico reports that Barack Obama is going to swear in on the Bible used during President Lincoln's inaguration. The question that I have is "What Would Lincoln Do?" Lincoln stood up for the sanctity of life by opposing slavery. He stood for the sanctity of marriage by opposing polygamy, and he protected our Constitutional liberties. Will President Obama protect the sanctity of life by opposing abortion? Will he protect the sanctity of marriage by assuring the it remains between one man and one woman? Will he protect our Constitutional liberties? One can only hope.

When Foreign Policies Collide: U.S. and Israel

In an article posted on TheHill website, trusted advisor Dick Morris lays out the current political situations here in the United States and in Israel, and how they will likely affect foreign policy. One point he makes however is particularly disturbing.

team have privately acknowledged that the widespread belief that Obama will move
swiftly to put the screws on Israel is fully justified. According to one source
who has spent a great deal of time with the transition team since last month’s
U.S. elections, Obama’s people are ‘scope-locked’ on Israel."

If this is true then some of our worst concerns dealing with the Obama administration are true. Benjamin Netanyahu is a wise leader in Israel. He will not stand by and watch his people be slaughtered. Barack Obama would do well not to interfere with Israel's right to defend itself. America and Israel have a common enemy in Islamic Jihad. Hezbollah and Hamas want to destroy us as well as Israel. Now is the time for us to stand with our allies. If you would like to find ways to help you can go here.

The Tale of Two Pay Raises

Two pays raises were offered recently, one was accepted and one was not. The one that was accepted? Congress accepted a $4,100 raise. If the the Democratic leadership were truly in touch with the American people then they would have stopped the process. I still believe that they should.

But what about that second pay raise? That one was offered to Governor Sarah Palin, she turned it down. That's right, she turned down a $25,000 pay raise because she understands the American people.

So who do you trust to run our economy? Conservative leaders like Sarah Palin, or liberal leaders like Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid.
